1. AMAZON LOOSENS DELIVERY TARGETS FOR SELLER FULFILLED PRIME (SFP)

Amazon will soften the on-time delivery requirement for Premium Shipping/Seller Fulfilled Prime sellers, lowering the threshold from 97 percent to 93.5 percent and switching performance reviews from monthly to weekly as of June 29. At the same time it will tighten enforcement: any seller that misses the targets and receives two warnings will be removed from the program after a third infraction.

2. KRAFT HEINZ INVESTING 3 BILLION USD IN U.S. MANUFACTURING UPGRADE

Kraft Heinz confirmed plans to spend 3 billion USD modernising its U.S. factories—the company’s largest plant investment in decades. The program, meant to offset tariffs and sluggish consumer demand, could create about 3,500 jobs and includes a new 400 million USD distribution centre in Illinois to boost domestic production.

3. E2OPEN ACQUIRED BY WISETECH FOR 2.1 BILLION USD

Australian logistics-software group WiseTech Global will acquire struggling supply-chain platform E2open for 2.1 billion USD, equivalent to 3.30 USD per share—around a 28 percent premium to E2open’s prior close. The deal offers a lifeline to E2open and enlarges WiseTech’s global software portfolio.

4. AI INVESTMENTS YIELD STRONGEST RETURNS IN SUPPLY CHAIN

Stanford’s 2025 AI Index Report finds that companies see the highest return on investment when applying AI to supply-chain optimisation—particularly in pricing and analytics. 5. MAERSK AND HAPAG-LLOYD LAUNCH NEW ASIA–US SHIPPING SERVICE

Under their “Gemini” cooperation the carriers will introduce Transpacific service TP9 linking East Asia with the U.S. West Coast. Advertised transits include Busan-to-Long Beach in 14 days and Xiamen-to-Long Beach in 18 days, promising greater flexibility and reliability for shippers on the lane.

6. UPS CUTTING JOBS AND SHUTTERING FACILITIES AMID VOLUME DROP

UPS will close five package-sorting facilities in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and eliminate a shift in Ohio as part of cost-cutting plans. The carrier previously signalled a reduction of about 20,000 jobs and the closure of 73 buildings in 2025 after lower Amazon volumes and other headwinds.

8. RUSSIAN HACKERS TARGET WESTERN SUPPLY-CHAIN INFRASTRUCTURE

A U.S. intelligence report says hackers linked to Russia’s GRU have infiltrated Western logistics and tech firms transporting aid to Ukraine. 9. AIR CARGO DEMAND REBOUNDS SHARPLY

Global air-freight volumes rose 5.8 percent year-over-year in April 2025, according to IATA. Analysts cite seasonal retail demand, shippers front-loading goods ahead of tariff changes and lower fuel prices. Capacity grew 6.3 percent and industry yields also improved.
