Graph databases are fairly high in my list of 'looks super cool, doesn't deliver'. Some vendors (disclaimer: competitors of my company Lokad) appear to promoting such database very aggressively, but precise use case of the tech remain incredibly elusive to me. All those companies that I did visit with those systems in place where simply _not using_ the graph database component.

Does anyone has an actual in-production company that illustrates the superiority of a graph database compared to a relational one in a supply chain context?

Ps: _Graph analysis_ can be useful, the deep learning literature has plenty of interesting examples, however, those should not be confused with graph database which are an alternative to relational database.
